The Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve is located on the Mexican Caribbean coast, on the Riviera Maya, a few hours south of Tulum. It is recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO since 1987.
Its name is evocative because it means “the door of the sky” or even “the place where the sky begins”.
Renowned for its preserved environment, where one can observe a rich fauna and flora with among others dolphins, turtles, crocodiles and manatees evolving in their natural environment.
On an area of more than 528 000 hectares, the change of scenery will be guaranteed between its magnificent white sandy beaches, its small bays, its immense mangrove but also its coral reef constituting the largest barrier reef after Australia.
The ecosystem is singular with forests whose trees can measure up to 30 meters between high grass and banana trees. You will be amazed by this wild place because these formations are almost unique in the world.
